Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Clipd collects and how we use it. We keep it simple and only collect what we need to run the Platform.
1. Who we are
Clipd operates the platform at clipd.org. For any privacy question, contact hello.clipd@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
- Account info: your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive these from your Google account.
- Activity: the clips and links you submit, the view counts TikTok reports for them, your level and earnings.
- TikTok connection: your TikTok app-specific identifier, granted permissions, public profile and video metadata, and encrypted access and refresh tokens once you connect TikTok.
- Payout info: the PayPal email you provide to get paid.
3. Signing in with Google
When you choose "Continue with Google", Google asks you to confirm before sharing anything. We request only your basic profile and email address. We use them to create your account, identify you when you sign in, and address you in the dashboard and in emails about your account.
We do not use Google account data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not transfer it to anyone else except as described in "Sharing" below. You can disconnect Clipd from your Google account at any time via your Google account permissions.
4. Connecting TikTok
Clippers connect the TikTok account that owns the videos they submit. This is how Clipd counts views, so submitting a TikTok clip requires it. TikTok shows a consent screen before anything is shared. Clipd requests only basic profile access and permission to read that account's own video list and public video statistics, including view count. Clipd does not request permission to publish, edit, or delete TikTok content.
We use this connection only to confirm that a submitted video belongs to the connected clipper, establish its view-count baseline after approval, and measure later view growth for campaign reach and earnings. TikTok access and refresh tokens are encrypted before storage and are never exposed to other Clipd users or the browser after authorization.
You can disconnect TikTok from your Clipd profile at any time. Clipd then asks TikTok to revoke the token, removes the stored connection credentials, and stops official updates until you reconnect. Earnings already recorded remain part of the accounting record.
5. How we use it
- To run your account and show your dashboard.
- To track views, calculate earnings, and pay you.
- To prevent fraud and keep the Platform fair.
- To contact you about your account, a clip, or a payout.
6. Where it's stored
Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Google Cloud), which acts as our hosting and database provider. We don't store payment card details — payouts go through PayPal.
7. Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share only what is necessary:
- PayPal — your PayPal email and the payout amount, in order to pay you.
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud — as the infrastructure that stores and serves your data.
- TikTok — when you connect, TikTok handles the authorization screen and the API requests needed to verify your own videos and their statistics.
- Where required by law, or to investigate fraud against Clipd, Creators, or other users.
8. Other services on our pages
- Google reCAPTCHA protects the Platform against automated abuse. It is subject to Google's own privacy policy and terms.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on our pages, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
- TikTok supplies every view count Clipd records, through its official API and only with the permissions shown on TikTok's consent screen. Clipd no longer reads view counts from public pages or from any third-party data provider.
9. How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. TikTok connection credentials are removed when you disconnect TikTok or delete your Clipd account. After you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data and keep only limited records we need for legal, accounting, or anti-fraud reasons.
10. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export, or delete your data at any time by emailing hello.clipd@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU or the UK you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority; in the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
11. Cookies & local storage
We use minimal browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember which notifications you've seen. We don't use advertising trackers.
12. Children
The Platform is not directed at children under the minimum age required to hold a PayPal account in their country.
13. Changes
We may update this policy as the Platform grows. We'll post the new date at the top.
